      <image:caption>The front decks have breathtaking views of the sea, but harsh marine conditions limited the plant palette to tough, wind- and salt-tolerant selections. The small rear garden, surrounded by paving and parking lots, was transformed into a sheltered retreat with a bluestone terrace and seeded aggregate concrete to match the existing paving. The planting, which emphasizes the Owner's favorite red and orange colors, include New Zealand Christmas trees, 'Yuletide' camellias, 'Jack Spratt' flax, Clivias, and a dwarf red Japanese maple. The bright red urn fountain provides a striking accent.</image:caption>
